Misty J. Colvin, M.D., MBA will join Old Pueblo Pediatrics November 1, 2021. She is honored to transition into Dr. Bean’s practice as he looks forward to retirement after forty (40) years of treating patients in Tucson.
Dr. Colvin is a board-certified pediatrician with more than 17 years of experience in pediatric medicine. She received her medical degree from Creighton University of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. In 2000 she moved to Tucson to begin residency at the University of Arizona School of Medicine. Dr. Colvin earned distinguished honors and awards throughout her academic years.
Upon completing her residency, Dr. Colvin gravitated toward practice in pediatric urgent care with Northwest Medical Center Urgent Cares. In November 2008 she was appointed Medical Director of the urgent care centers for Northwest Hospital. In addition to her administrative responsibilities as Medical Director, she maintained a fulltime clinical schedule providing direct patient care. Dr. Colvin has been committed to furthering her education and received her MBA in Health Administration from University of South Dakota in 2016. In addition to furthering her own education, Dr. Colvin has committed to precept and teach students at Burrell College of Medicine in Tucson. She is proficient in Spanish.
Dr. Colvin is dedicated to partnering with parents as they raise happy and healthy children. She is excited to join the providers and staff of Old Pueblo Pediatrics and looks forward to meeting her patients and their families.
Dr. Colvin has lived in Tucson for over 20 years. In her free time, she enjoys baking, cooking, and gardening. She and her husband, Michael enjoy outside activities with their giant Labrador, Finn. Together they support and volunteer at the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
