Marie Smith is a board certified pediatric nurse practitioner (CPNP). She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree (DNP) in 2017 at the University of Arizona – College of Nursing. Her research focused on the effects of prenatal substance exposure and providing education for caregivers of substance-exposed children.
Marie has many years of experience working with children of all ages. While completing her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences at the University of Arizona, she worked at Casa de los Niños crisis shelter with abused and neglected children. She finished a Master of Science in Entry Level Nursing degree in 2014 at the University of Arizona. Marie then worked for 3.5 years in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Tucson. Marie is passionate about working with new parents and helping them to transition into their new role.
Marie and her husband Shad have two wonderful children (a daughter and a son) who keep them busy at home! Marie enjoys playing the piano on the worship team at her church and going on evening walks with her family and their golden retriever.
